Fans at Friday's league contest between the Martin County West Mavericks (Sherburn, MN) and the host Madelia Blackhawks (Madelia, MN), observed Martin County West's volleyball team top Madelia by a count of 3-1.

The Mavericks (12-5) will now prepare for their battle against Sleepy Eye (Sleepy Eye, MN). The Indians go into the non-league battle with a 4-14 record. In their last battle, Sleepy Eye dropped by Minnesota Valley Lutheran (New Ulm, MN), 3-1, in a non-league battle.

The Blackhawks now own a 8-16 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to New Ulm Cathedral for a non-league battle on Monday, October 20. Madelia will meet a Greyhounds team coming off a 3-0 league loss to Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart (Hector, MN). The Greyhounds record now stands at 12-11.
