The crowd at Tuesday's non-league bout between the Newton County Cougars (Decatur, MS) and the host Lawrence County Cougars (Monticello, MS), saw Newton County's volleyball squad beat Lawrence County by a tally of 3-0.

With the win, Newton County upgrades its record to 6-3 on the year. The Cougars travel to Pass Christian (Pass Christian, MS) to play the Pirates in a non-league bout on Thursday, October 13. The Pirates go into the bout with a record of 16-13. Pass Christian won 3-1 in their recent non-league bout against Northeast Jones (Laurel, MS)

The Cougars now own a 2-4 record.
