North Carolina High School Football - Freedom loses to Alexander Central

October 11, 2024: Morganton, NC 28655

Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC) followers went home pleased Friday as they saw their football team gain a win over the host Freedom Patriots (Morganton, NC), 30-20 in a league battle.

With the win, Alexander Central advances its record to 3-3 on the season. The Cougars host Watauga (Boone, NC) to play the Pioneers in a Northwestern 3A/4A battle on Friday, October 18. The Pioneers go into the battle with a record of 5-0. Watauga won 47-21 in their recent non-league battle against North Davidson (Lexington, NC)

The Patriots now own a 3-3 record. They play next when they host South Caldwell for a Northwestern 3A/4A battle on Friday, October 18. Freedom will play a Spartans team coming off a 21-20 league loss to Hibriten (Lenoir, NC). The Spartans record now stands at 2-4.
