The crowd at Friday's league contest between the Appomattox County Raiders (Appomattox, VA) and the visiting Nelson County Governors (Lovingston, VA), witnessed Appomattox County's football squad knock off Nelson County by a tally of 34-7.

The Raiders (1-6) will now prepare for their contest against Chatham (Chatham, VA). The Cavaliers enter the Dogwood contest with a 3-2 record. In their last contest, Chatham gained a win over William Campbell (Naruna, VA), 41-0, in a league contest.

Coming up next, the Governors battle the Dan River Wildcats (Ringgold, VA) in a Dogwood contest, on Friday, October 18. Nelson County will attempt to better on its 4-3 season record. The Wildcats enter the contest with a 1-5 record after their 74-7 league loss to Altavista (Altavista, VA).
