Byers Lions (Holly Springs, MS) fans went home in high spirits Friday as they saw their football team achieve victory over the host Potts Camp Cardinals (Potts Camp, MS), 42-21 in a non-league battle.

With the win, Byers improves its record to 4-3 on the season. The Lions host Falkner (Falkner, MS) to play the Eagles in a 1A Region 2 battle on Friday, October 18. The Eagles go into the battle with a record of 5-1. Falkner won 53-16 in their recent non-league battle against Thrasher (Booneville, MS)

The Cardinals now have a 1-4 record. They play next when they travel to Strayhorn for a 1A Region 3 battle on Friday, October 25.
