In Friday's league match, the host Mount Vernon Mustangs football squad scored a close 1-0 triumph over the St. Francis Knights.
The Mustangs (3-4) will now prepare for their match against King's Ridge Christian (Alpharetta, GA). The Tigers come into the A D1 Region 5 match with a 6-2 record. In their last match, King's Ridge Christian was nudged by Wesleyan (Norcross, GA), 35-17, in a league match.
