In their next game, the Trojans face the Turner Lions (Carrollton, TX) in a 5A-1 Region II District 6 challenge, on Friday, October 18. Newman Smith will attempt to improve on its 5-1 season record. The Lions go into the challenge with a 2-4 record after their 65-21 league loss to Creekview (Carrollton, TX).

The Longhorns (4-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Sunset (Dallas, TX). The Bison go into the 5A-1 Region II District 6 challenge with a 2-4 record. In their last challenge, Sunset was edged by North Mesquite (Mesquite, TX), 49-6, in a league challenge.
