New London Whalers (New London, CT) followers went home in high spirits Saturday as they saw their football team achieve victory over the host Bacon Academy/Lyman Memorial (Colchester, CT), 20-8 in a league battle.

With the win, New London advances its record to 2-3 on the season. The Whalers travel to East Lyme (East Lyme, CT) to play the Vikings in a Eastern Connecticut I battle on Friday, October 17. The Vikings go into the battle with a record of 2-2. East Lyme lost 35-21 in their recent league challenge against Fitch (Groton, CT)

The (3-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Griswold/Wheeler (Griswold, CT). The Wolverines go into the Eastern Connecticut III challenge with a 1-1 record. In their last challenge, Griswold/Wheeler toppled Woodstock Academy (Woodstock, CT), 47-20, in a non-league challenge.
