In Saturday's league match, the visiting Montrose Red Hawks football squad scored a decisive 55-6 victory over the Doherty Spartans.
The Red Hawks (7-0) will now prepare for their match against Mesa Ridge (Colorado Springs, CO). The Grizzlies go into the 4A Soco 1 battle with a 3-4 record. In their last battle, Mesa Ridge walloped Pueblo West (Pueblo West, CO), 22-15, in a league battle.
The Spartans now own a 2-5 record. They play next when they travel to Falcon for a 4A Soco 1 battle on Friday, October 17. Doherty will play a Falcons squad coming off a 17-12 league win over Widefield (Colorado Springs, CO). The Falcons record now stands at 3-4.
