In Saturday's league match, the visiting Springfield Southeast Spartans football squad scored a close 19-18 triumph over the Lanphier Lions.

The Spartans (2-5) will now prepare for their match against Normal University (Normal, IL). The Pioneers come into the non-league match with a 3-4 record. In their last match, Normal University tipped Decatur Eisenhower (Decatur, IL), 55-12, in a league match.
