The crowd at Saturday's league contest between the L.W. Higgins Hurricanes (Marrero, LA) and the host West Jefferson Buccaneers (Harvey, LA), saw L.W. Higgins's football team nip West Jefferson by a final score of 14-12.

With the win, L.W. Higgins advances its record to 2-5 on the season. The Hurricanes host Riverdale (Jefferson, LA) to encounter the Rebels in a 5A District 10 battle on Thursday, October 16. The Rebels go into the battle with a record of 6-1. Riverdale won 14-7 in their recent league battle against John Ehret (Marrero, LA)

The Buccaneers now own a 1-4 record. They play next when they travel to East Jefferson for a 5A District 10 match on Friday, October 17. West Jefferson will confront a Warriors squad coming off a 67-0 league loss to Bonnabel (Kenner, LA). The Warriors record now stands at 0-6.
