Fans at Saturday's non-league battle between the New Bedford Whalers (New Bedford, MA) and the visiting Bishop Stang Spartans (North Dartmouth, MA), saw New Bedford's soccer squad prevail over Bishop Stang by a count of 5-1.

The Whalers (6-2) will now prepare for their match against Durfee (Fall River, MA). The Hilltoppers come into the match with a 6-1 record. In their last match, Durfee nipped Bridgewater-Raynham (Bridgewater, MA), 2-1, in a non-league match.

The Spartans now sport a 4-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to St. Mary's for a non-league outing on Wednesday, October 15.
