Alisal Trojans (Salinas, CA) backers were pleased Saturday as they witnessed their volleyball team tip the host Pioneer Mustangs (San Jose, CA), 2-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Trojans (14-8) will now prepare for their challenge against Palo Alto (Palo Alto, CA). The Vikings come into the non-league challenge with a 14-6 record. In their last challenge, Palo Alto edged Los Altos (Los Altos, CA), 3-0, in a league challenge.

Next, the Mustangs play the Willow Glen Rams (San Jose, CA) in a BVAL - Santa Teresa East game, on Tuesday, October 14. Pioneer will attempt to advance on its 10-9 season record. The Rams go into the game with a 10-7 record after their 3-0 league win over Yerba Buena (San Jose, CA).
