In Saturday's non-league challenge, the host McNary Celtics volleyball team scored a close 2-1 triumph over the Cleveland Warriors.

The Celtics (10-12) will now prepare for their challenge against North Salem (Salem, OR). The Vikings come into the 6A Central Valley challenge with a 2-15 record. In their last challenge, North Salem was nudged by West Salem (Salem, OR), 3-0, in a league challenge.

Next, the Warriors meet the Lincoln Cardinals (Portland, OR) in a 6A Portland Interscholastic challenge, on Tuesday, October 14. Cleveland will attempt to advance on its 10-9 season record. The Cardinals go into the test with a 16-7 record after their 3-1 league win over McDaniel (Portland, OR).
