In Saturday's non-league challenge, the host Fertile-Beltrami Falcons volleyball team scored a close 2-1 triumph over the Grygla-Gatzke Eagles.

The Falcons (17-6) will now prepare for their test against Northern Freeze co-op [Marshall County Central/Tri-County] (Newfolden, MN). The Northern Freeze go into the non-league test with a 12-13 record. In their last test, Northern Freeze co-op [Marshall County Central/Tri-County] nudged Goodridge/Grygla (Goodridge, MN), 3-2, in a league test.

The Eagles now sport a 10-12 record. They put it on the line next when they host Red Lake County Central for a non-league test on Saturday, October 11. Grygla-Gatzke will play a Mustangs team coming off a 3-1 non-league loss to Grygla-Gatzke (Grygla, MN). The Mustangs record now stands at 7-13.
