Riceville Wildcats (Riceville, IA) boosters left the game satisfied Saturday as they saw their volleyball squad edge the visiting Hayfield Vikings (Hayfield, MN), 2-1 in a non-league test.
With the win, Riceville improves its record to 5-11 on the season.
The Vikings now own a 3-15 record. They put it on the line next when they host Waterville-Elysian-Morristown for a Gopher test on Saturday, October 11. Hayfield will face a Buccaneers squad coming off a 3-0 league win over Blooming Prairie (Blooming Prairie, MN). The Buccaneers record now stands at 10-5.
