Pine Island Panthers (Pine Island, MN) boosters left the game thrilled Saturday as they saw their volleyball squad nudge the host St. Croix Prep Lions (Stillwater, MN), 2-1 in a non-league test.

With the win, Pine Island upgrades its record to 18-7 on the campaign. The Panthers host West Lutheran (Plymouth, MN) to play the Warriors in a non-league challenge on Saturday, October 11. The Warriors come into the challenge with a record of 8-15. West Lutheran lost 3-0 in their recent league challenge against PACT Charter (Ramsey, MN)

The Lions (13-6) will now prepare for their game against Totino-Grace (Fridley, MN). The Eagles go into the non-league game with a 11-10 record. In their last game, Totino-Grace was edged by Robbinsdale Armstrong (Plymouth, MN), 3-1, in a league game.
