The crowd at Thursday's non-league contest between the Howard Wildcats (Wilmington, DE) and the visiting Newark Yellowjackets (Newark, DE), observed Howard's football squad edge Newark by a count of 8-3.

The Wildcats now own a 4-2 record. They play next when they host Odessa for a 2A District 2 contest on Friday, October 20. Howard will encounter a Ducks squad coming off a 42-7 league loss to Wilmington Friends (Wilmington, DE). The Ducks record now stands at 2-4.

Coming up next, the Yellowjackets encounter the Caravel Buccaneers (Bear, DE) in a 2A District 1 contest, on Saturday, October 21. Newark will attempt to upgrade on its 3-3 season record. The Buccaneers go into the contest with a 6-0 record after their 56-6 league win over Delcastle Technical (Wilmington, DE).
