In Thursday's league match, the host Water Valley Blue Devils football squad scored a close 32-30 victory over the Palmer Dragons.

In their next game, the Blue Devils clash with the Calhoun City Wildcats (Calhoun City, MS) in a 2A Region 2 match, on Friday, October 20. Water Valley will attempt to move on its 3-5 season record. The Wildcats enter the match with a 7-0 record after their 58-6 league win over Bruce (Bruce, MS).
