The Monterey Trail Mustangs football team (Elk Grove, CA), was beaten 17-6 in Thursday's non-league challenge with the visiting Merced Bears (Merced, CA)
The Bears (7-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Buhach Colony (Atwater, CA). The Thunder come into the challenge with a 0-7 record. In their last challenge, Buhach Colony was beaten by El Capitan (Merced, CA), 20-0, in a league challenge.
The Mustangs now sport a 2-5 record. They take the field next when they host Vista del Lago for a non-league challenge on Thursday, October 19. Monterey Trail will meet a Eagles team coming off a 28-14 non-league win over Casa Roble (Orangevale, CA). The Eagles record now stands at 4-4.
