Birmingham Patriots (Lake Balboa, CA) boosters left the game thrilled Saturday as they saw their volleyball squad nudge the visiting GALA Goddesses (Los Angeles, CA), 1-0 in a non-league test.

With the win, Birmingham improves its record to 5-16 on the season. The Patriots travel to Arleta (Arleta, CA) to face the Mustangs in a non-league test on Saturday, October 12. The Mustangs go into the test with a record of 5-9. Arleta lost 3-1 in their recent league test against Poly (Sun Valley, CA)

The Goddesses now own a 10-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host Dymally for a Coliseum test on Wednesday, October 16. GALA will face a Challengers squad coming off a 3-1 league loss to King/Drew (Los Angeles, CA). The Challengers record now stands at 4-11.
