In Thursday's league match, the visiting James Monroe Yellow Jackets football squad scored a close 17-15 victory over the Culpeper County Blue Devils.

In their next game, the Yellow Jackets clash with the Spotsylvania Knights (Spotsylvania, VA) in a Battlefield match, on Friday, October 21. James Monroe will attempt to move on its 2-5 season record. The Knights enter the match with a 3-4 record after their 65-14 league loss to Eastern View (Culpeper, VA).

The Blue Devils (2-5) will now prepare for their match against Courtland (Spotsylvania, VA). The Cougars go into the Battlefield test with a 3-4 record. In their last test, Courtland was edged by Caroline (Milford, VA), 36-22, in a league test.
