In Friday's non-league game, the Fairview Eagles (Ashland, KY) football team knocked off the visiting Phelps Hornets (Phelps, KY), by a final score of 56-27.
The Eagles (2-7) will now prepare for their game against Paris (Paris, KY). The Greyhounds come into the 1A District 6 game with a 7-1 record. In their last game, Paris was dropped by Raceland (Raceland, KY), 43-13, in a league game.
The Hornets now hold a 1-6 record. They take the field next when they host Morgan County for a Freelance game on Friday, October 20. Phelps will battle a Cougars team coming off a 64-20 league win over Jenkins (Jenkins, KY). The Cougars record now stands at 5-3.
