The Sandia Matadors (Albuquerque, NM) football edged the visiting Farmington Scorpions (Farmington, NM), 35-28 in Friday's league bout.

In their next game, the Matadors face the La Cueva Bears (Albuquerque, NM) in a 6A District 2/5 bout, on Friday, October 20. Sandia will attempt to advance on its 7-1 season record. The Bears go into the contest with a 5-3 record after their 54-26 league win over West Mesa (Albuquerque, NM).

Coming up next, the Scorpions play the Piedra Vista Panthers (Farmington, NM) in a non-league contest, on Saturday, October 14. Farmington will attempt to advance on its 5-3 season record. The Panthers go into the contest with a 3-5 record after their 52-16 league win over Miyamura (Gallup, NM).
