The Giles Spartans football team (Pearisburg, VA), was knocked off 14-6 in Friday's league challenge with the visiting Galax Maroon Tide (Galax, VA)

The Maroon Tide (4-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Richlands (Richlands, VA). The Blue Tornado come into the non-league challenge with a 0-7 record. In their last challenge, Richlands was knocked off by Virginia High (Bristol, VA), 28-24, in a league challenge.

The Spartans now sport a 2-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Tazewell for a non-league challenge on Friday, October 20. Giles will meet a Bulldogs team coming off a 38-7 league win over Marion (Marion, VA). The Bulldogs record now stands at 5-2.
