The Pontotoc Warriors football team (Pontotoc, MS), was knocked off 42-17 in Friday's league challenge with the visiting Lafayette Commodores (Oxford, MS)
The Commodores (4-3) will now prepare for their challenge against West Point (West Point, MS). The Green Wave come into the 5A Region 1 challenge with a 4-3 record. In their last challenge, West Point was knocked off by Clarksdale (Clarksdale, MS), 27-21, in a league challenge.
The Warriors now sport a 3-4 record. They take the field next when they host Corinth for a 5A Region 1 challenge on Friday, October 20. Pontotoc will meet a Warriors team coming off a 34-27 league win over New Hope (Columbus, MS). The Warriors record now stands at 2-6.
