The crowd at Friday's league outing between the Sam Houston Broncos (Lake Charles, LA) and the host Lafayette Lions (Lafayette, LA), observed Sam Houston's football team run past Lafayette by a final score of 34-21.

With the win, Sam Houston improves its record to 6-1 on the season. The Broncos host Carencro (Lafayette, LA) to confront the Bears in a 5A District 3 outing on Friday, October 20. The Bears go into the outing with a record of 7-0. Carencro won 65-8 in their recent league outing against Comeaux (Lafayette, LA)

With the loss, Lafayette moves to 3-4 on the season. The Lions travel to Barbe (Lake Charles, LA) to confront the Buccaneers in a 5A District 3 outing on Friday, October 20. The Buccaneers go into the outing with a record of 4-3. Barbe won 35-17 in their recent league outing against New Iberia (New Iberia, LA)
