In Friday's league match, the visiting Meridian Wildcats football squad scored a close 38-31 victory over the Northwest Rankin Cougars.
In their next game, the Wildcats clash with the Petal Panthers (Petal, MS) in a 7A Region 3 match, on Friday, October 20. Meridian will attempt to move on its 4-4 season record. The Panthers enter the match with a 3-4 record after their 40-21 league loss to Pearl (Pearl, MS).
The Cougars (5-2) will now prepare for their match against Oak Grove (Hattiesburg, MS). The Warriors enter the 7A Region 3 match with a 6-1 record. In their last match, Oak Grove was nudged by Brandon (Brandon, MS), 38-20, in a league match.
