In Friday's non-league game, the Thomas Walker Pioneers (Ewing, VA) football team smashed the visiting Twin Valley Panthers (Pilgrims Knob, VA), by a final score of 43-8.
The Pioneers (4-3) will now prepare for their game against Eastside (Coeburn, VA). The Spartans come into the Cumberland game with a 3-4 record. In their last game, Eastside was trounced by Twin Springs (Nickelsville, VA), 28-20, in a league game.
The Panthers now hold a 2-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to River View for a non-league game on Friday, October 20. Twin Valley will battle a Raiders team coming off a 24-0 league win over Montcalm (Montcalm, WV). The Raiders record now stands at 3-4.
