The Hoggard Vikings (Wilmington, NC) football defeated the host Ashley Screaming Eagle (Wilmington, NC), 29-19 in Friday's league bout.

In their next game, the Vikings face the Laney Buccaneers (Wilmington, NC) in a 3A/4A East Conference 20 bout, on Friday, October 21. Hoggard will attempt to advance on its 6-2 season record. The Buccaneers enter the bout with a 5-3 record after their 45-0 league win over South Brunswick (Southport, NC).

The Screaming Eagle (1-7) will now prepare for their bout against Topsail (Hampstead, NC). The Pirates enter the 3A/4A East Conference 20 bout with a 4-4 record. In their last bout, Topsail lost by New Hanover (Wilmington, NC), 27-10, in a league bout.
