    The crowd at Friday's non-league contest between the Hawthorne Hornets (Hawthorne, FL) and the host Union County Fightin' Tigers (Lake Butler, FL), observed Hawthorne's football squad edge Union County by a count of 28-21.

    The Hornets now own a 6-0 record. They play next when they host North Marion for a non-league contest on Friday, October 21. Hawthorne will encounter a Colts squad coming off a 51-17 non-league win over West Port (Ocala, FL). The Colts record now stands at 6-2.

    Coming up next, the Fightin' Tigers encounter the Santa Fe Raiders (Alachua, FL) in a non-league contest, on Friday, October 21. Union County will attempt to upgrade on its 4-2 season record. The Raiders go into the contest with a 1-6 record after their 40-0 non-league loss to Suwannee (Live Oak, FL).
