In Saturday's non-league match, the visiting Cheverus Stags football squad scored a close 27-22 victory over the Westbrook Blue Blazes.
In their next game, the Stags clash with the Leavitt Hornets (Turner, ME) in a C South match, on Friday, October 20. Cheverus will attempt to move on its 8-1 season record. The Hornets enter the match with a 8-1 record after their 35-21 non-league win over Thornton Academy (Saco, ME).
The Blue Blazes (2-7) will now prepare for their match against Deering (Portland, ME). The Rams enter the B South match with a 4-5 record. In their last match, Deering was nudged by Gorham (Gorham, ME), 20-0, in a league match.
