In Saturday's non-league contest, the Palatine Pirates (Palatine, IL) volleyball squad nudged the host Batavia Bulldogs (Batavia, IL), by a count of 2-1.

The Pirates (14-19) will now prepare for their challenge against Elk Grove (Elk Grove Village, IL). The Grenadiers enter the Mid-Suburban challenge with a 10-20 record. In their last challenge, Elk Grove was nudged by Prospect (Mt. Prospect, IL), 2-1, in a league challenge.

Next, the Bulldogs encounter the Glenbard North Panthers (Carol Stream, IL) in a DuKane challenge, on Tuesday, October 17. Batavia will attempt to move on its 10-23 season record. The Panthers enter the challenge with a 14-17 record after their 2-0 non-league loss to Bartlett (Bartlett, IL).
