In Saturday's non-league battle, the host Gilbert Tigers volleyball team scored a tight 2-1 triumph over the South Central Calhoun Titans.
The Tigers (12-18) will now prepare for their battle against Norwalk (Norwalk, IA). The Warriors come into the non-league battle with a 19-15 record. In their last battle, Norwalk nudged Newton (Newton, IA), 2-0, in a league battle.
Next, the Titans clash with the Chariton Chargers (Chariton, IA) in a non-league battle, on Saturday, October 14. South Central Calhoun will attempt to improve on its 26-14 season record. The Chargers enter the test with a 9-15 record after their 3-0 league loss to Knoxville (Knoxville, IA).
