In Monday's non-league challenge, the host Blacksburg Bruins volleyball team scored a close 3-2 victory over the Grayson County Blue Devils.

The Bruins (9-11) will now prepare for their challenge against Cave Spring (Roanoke, VA). The Knights enter the River Ridge challenge with a 8-13 record. In their last challenge, Cave Spring was tipped by Christiansburg (Christiansburg, VA), 3-0, in a league challenge.

Next, the Blue Devils meet the Auburn Eagles (Riner, VA) in a Mountain Empire challenge, on Tuesday, October 15. Grayson County will attempt to upgrade on its 12-4 season record. The Eagles enter the challenge with a 21-0 record after their 3-0 league win over Fort Chiswell (Max Meadows, VA).
