Fans at Monday's non-league contest between the Evergreen Valley Cougars (San Jose, CA) and the visiting Santa Clara Bruins (Santa Clara, CA), observed Evergreen Valley's volleyball team top Santa Clara by a count of 2-0.

The Cougars (7-16) will now prepare for their contest against Westmont (Campbell, CA). The Warriors enter the BVAL - Mt. Hamilton contest with a 16-7 record. In their last contest, Westmont notched a victory over Leigh (San Jose, CA), 3-2, in a league contest.

Next, the Bruins battle the Fremont Firebirds (Sunnyvale, CA) in a Santa Clara Valley - El Camino contest, on Tuesday, October 15. Santa Clara will attempt to move on its 9-12 season record. The Firebirds enter the contest with a 6-18 record after their 3-0 league loss to Saratoga (Saratoga, CA).
