Fans at Tuesday's non-league contest between the Newark Reds (Newark, NY) and the visiting Gates Chili Spartans (Rochester, NY), observed Newark's volleyball team top Gates Chili by a count of 3-1.

The Reds (7-4) will now prepare for their contest against Geneva (Geneva, NY). The Panthers enter the Section 5 Finger Lakes - East contest with a 4-13 record. In their last contest, Geneva was knocked off by Midlakes (Clifton Springs, NY), 3-0, in a league contest.

Next, the Spartans meet the Spencerport Rangers (Spencerport, NY) in a Section 5 Monroe County II contest, on Thursday, October 17. Gates Chili will attempt to move on its 4-14 season record. The Rangers enter the contest with a 7-8 record after their 3-1 non-league loss to Sutherland (Pittsford, NY).
