In Tuesday's non-league challenge, the host Hawley Bearcats volleyball team scored a close 3-2 triumph over the Veribest Falcons.

The Bearcats (22-10) will now prepare for their challenge against Albany (Albany, TX). The Lions come into the 2A Region I District 6 challenge with a 15-18 record. In their last challenge, Albany edged Roscoe (Roscoe, TX), 3-0, in a league challenge.

Next, the Falcons meet the Olfen Mustangs (Rowena, TX) in a 1A Region I District 6 challenge, on Saturday, October 19. Veribest will attempt to upgrade on its 21-12 season record. The Mustangs come into the challenge with a 0-6 record after their 3-0 league loss to Water Valley (Water Valley, TX).
