The New London Whalers (New London, CT) soccer nipped the visiting Wheeler Lions (North Stonington, CT), 4-3 in Wednesday's non-league challenge.
The Whalers now hold a 10-3 record. They play next when they travel to St. Bernard for a Eastern Connecticut III contest on Friday, October 17.
The Lions (5-3) will now prepare for their contest against Westbrook (Westbrook, CT). The Knights enter the non-league contest with a 1-6 record. In their last contest, Westbrook was nipped by Harding (Bridgeport, CT), 5-1, in a non-league contest.
