Fans at Wednesday's non-league contest between the Hermitage Panthers (Richmond, VA) and the host Varina Blue Devils (Richmond, VA), observed Hermitage's volleyball team top Varina by a count of 3-0.

The Panthers (4-12) will now prepare for their contest against Thomas Jefferson (Richmond, VA). The Vikings enter the Colonial contest with a 6-7 record. In their last battle, Thomas Jefferson achieved victory over John Marshall (Richmond, VA), 3-1, in a league battle.

The Blue Devils now own a 4-10 record. They put it on the line next when they host Highland Springs for a Capital battle on Thursday, October 16. Varina will encounter a Springers squad coming off a 3-0 league loss to Mechanicsville (Mechanicsville, VA). The Springers record now stands at 10-5.
