The Metro-East Lutheran Knights volleyball squad (Edwardsville, IL), was edged 2-1 in Wednesday's non-league battle with the host Southwestern Piasa Birds (Piasa, IL)

With the win, Southwestern improves its record to 14-14 on the season. The Piasa Birds host Litchfield (Litchfield, IL) to encounter the Purple Panthers in a South Central battle on Thursday, October 16. The Purple Panthers enter the contest with a record of 6-15. Litchfield lost 2-0 in their recent league contest against Carlinville (Carlinville, IL)

Next, the Knights meet the Roxana Shells (Roxana, IL) in a non-league contest, on Saturday, October 18. Metro-East Lutheran will attempt to upgrade on its 7-22 season record. The Shells enter the contest with a 8-20 record after their 2-0 league win over East Alton-Wood River (Wood River, IL).
