The Appleton North Lightning volleyball squad (Appleton, WI), was edged 3-2 in Thursday's non-league battle with the visiting Middleton Cardinals (Middleton, WI)

With the win, Middleton improves its record to 32-0 on the season. The Cardinals host Marquette University (Milwaukee, WI) to meet the Hilltoppers in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, October 21. The Hilltoppers enter the challenge with a record of 16-10. Marquette University won 3-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Muskego (Muskego, WI)

Next, the Lightning meet the Kaukauna Galloping Ghosts (Kaukauna, WI) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, October 18. Appleton North will attempt to upgrade on its 25-7 season record. The Galloping Ghosts enter the challenge with a 18-13 record after their 3-0 league loss to Appleton North (Appleton, WI).
