The crowd at Thursday's league contest between the Elgin Wildcats (Elgin, TX) and the host Crockett Cougars (Austin, TX), witnessed Elgin's football squad wallop Crockett by a count of 70-26.

The Wildcats (1-6) will now prepare for their contest against Bastrop (Bastrop, TX). The Bears enter the 5A-2 Region III District 11 battle with a 7-0 record. In their last battle, Bastrop routed Navarro (Austin, TX), 71-0, in a league match.

Coming up next, the Cougars confront the Pflugerville Panthers (Pflugerville, TX) in a 5A-2 Region III District 11 match, on Friday, October 24.
