In Thursday's non-league challenge, the host Shepard Astros volleyball team scored a close 2-1 triumph over the Reavis Rams.

The Astros (9-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Blue Island Eisenhower (Blue Island, IL). The Cardinals come into the non-league challenge with a 0-3 record.

In their next game, the Rams face the Thornton Fractional South Red Wolves (Lansing, IL) in a non-league test, on Tuesday, October 21. Reavis will attempt to advance on its 10-4 season record.
