Newburyport Clippers (Newburyport, MA) backers exited the stadium pleased Thursday as they witnessed their soccer team triumph over the visiting Amesbury Redhawks (Amesbury, MA), 8-1 in a non-league test.

With the triumph, Newburyport advances its record to 9-3 on the campaign. The Clippers host Masconomet Regional (Boxford, MA) to clash with the Chieftains in a non-league test on Friday, October 17. The Chieftains come into the test with a record of 13-0.

The Redhawks now have a 0-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Haverhill for a non-league test on Saturday, October 18. Amesbury will clash with a Hillies team coming off a 1-1 non-league Lowell (Lowell, MA). The Hillies record now stands at 2-6.
