South Iredell Vikings (Statesville, NC) backers exited the stadium pleased Thursday as they witnessed their soccer team get by the host Foard Tigers (Newton, NC), 2-1 in a non-league outing.

The Vikings (8-8) will now prepare for their outing against Statesville (Statesville, NC). The Greyhounds go into the North Piedmont 6A/7A outing with a 6-7 record. In their last outing, Statesville got by West Charlotte (Charlotte, NC), 3-1, in a non-league outing.

Next up, the Tigers play the Hickory Red Tornadoes (Hickory, NC) in a Western Foothills 4A/5A outing, on Tuesday, October 21. Foard will attempt to improve on its 5-11 season record. The Red Tornadoes go into the outing with a 12-3 record after their 2-1 league loss to Newton-Conover (Newton, NC).
