New Mexico High School Football - Belen loses to Highland

October 17, 2024: Albuquerque, NM 87108

Highland Hornets (Albuquerque, NM) followers went home pleased Thursday as they saw their football team gain a win over the visiting Belen Eagles (Belen, NM), 18-7 in a league battle.

With the win, Highland advances its record to 4-4 on the season. The Hornets host Capital (Santa Fe, NM) to play the Jaguars in a 5A District 1 battle on Thursday, October 24. The Jaguars go into the battle with a record of 2-6. Capital lost 44-8 in their recent league battle against Miyamura (Gallup, NM)

The Eagles now own a 2-5 record. They play next when they host Rio Grande for a 5A District 1 battle on Friday, October 25. Belen will play a Ravens team coming off a 50-0 league loss to Los Alamos (Los Alamos, NM). The Ravens record now stands at 0-7.
