Fans at Thursday's non-league battle between the Mountain Ridge Miners (Frostburg, MD) and the visiting Williamsport Wildcats (Williamsport, MD), saw Mountain Ridge's soccer squad knock off Williamsport by a count of 2-0.

The Miners (13-0) will now prepare for their battle against Southern (Oakland, MD). The Rams enter the Appalachian battle with a 11-1 record. In their last battle, Southern tipped Petersburg (Petersburg, WV), 5-0, in a non-league battle.

Next up, the Wildcats battle the Bishop Walsh Spartans (Cumberland, MD) in a non-league battle, on Saturday, October 19. Williamsport will attempt to upgrade on its 5-4 season record. The Spartans enter the battle with a 2-12 record after their 2-1 non-league loss to Frankfort (Ridgeley, WV).
