In Friday's league match, the visiting Apache Junction Prospectors football squad scored a good 18-7 triumph over the ALA - Mesa North Mavericks.
The Prospectors (1-7) will now prepare for their match against Round Valley (Eagar, AZ). The Elks come into the 3A Mountain match with a 7-1 record. In their last match, Round Valley prevailed over San Tan Foothills (Queen Creek, AZ), 56-19, in a non-league battle.
With the defeat, ALA - Mesa North drops to 2-6 on the campaign. The Mavericks host Blue Ridge (Lakeside, AZ) to meet the Yellow Jackets in a 3A Mountain test on Friday, October 24. The Yellow Jackets come into the test with a record of 4-4. Blue Ridge lost 21-14 in their recent league test against Show Low (Show Low, AZ)
