Catholic of Pointe Coupee Hornets (New Roads, LA) fans went home in high spirits Friday as they saw their football team triumph over the visiting Berchmans Academy Saints (Grand Coteau, LA), 43-7 in a league battle.

With the win, Catholic of Pointe Coupee improves its record to 6-1 on the season. The Hornets travel to St. Edmund (Eunice, LA) to play the Fighting Blue Jays in a 1A District 5 battle on Friday, October 24. The Fighting Blue Jays go into the battle with a record of 6-1. St. Edmund won 58-36 in their recent league test against Sacred Heart (Ville Platte, LA)

With the defeat, Berchmans Academy drops to 1-6 on the campaign. The Saints travel to Westminster Christian Academy (Opelousas, LA) to face the Crusaders in a 1A District 5 challenge on Friday, October 24. The Crusaders go into the challenge with a record of 7-0. Westminster Christian Academy won 35-16 in their recent non-league challenge against Port Barre (Port Barre, LA)
